Three bodies were discovered in Gard on Sunday by emergency services. Bad weather hitting the southern half of the country also caused the disappearance of four people in this department and in Ardèche.

A family of four, including two children, was caught in the waves while trying to cross by car on Saturday evening a submersible bridge. The mother was found and taken to hospital, but the father and his children were still being sought as of Sunday evening. Most of the missing were swept away while try to cross rivers swollen by violent weather. Météo France placed Gard and six other departments on orange alert on Saturday.
