A bill by MK Dellal of the Likud was approved in a preliminary reading. The goal: droppings left on the street can be inspected - thus reaching the dog's owner and imposing a fine on him.

In addition, the bill stipulates that the DNA sample will be taken by a veterinarian when the rabies vaccine is administered. A genetic testing laboratory will examine the samples and transfer the data to a local DNA database. The bill seeks to allow municipalities to enact bylaws on fecal collection and strengthen their ability to enforce the law.
