Alexeï Navalny, 47, died in prison, the Russian prison services announced. He was serving a 19-year prison sentence for “extremism” in a remote Arctic prison.
Navalny's team said they had not been informed of the politician's death and that a lawyer was traveling to the scene. Latvia's president Edgars Rinkevics: "He was just brutally murdered by the Kremlin. This is a fact and something that needs to be known about the true nature of the current regime"
