Metz Criminal Court on Wednesday sentenced a mother and her husband to 10 months in prison. Found guilty of violence, the court however acquitted them of the charges of removal and non-representation of children.

The mother had her right to exercise parental authority withdrawn, and her partner was banned from having contact with the boys for a period of three years. The defense announced that it would appeal the verdict. The children had denounced having undergone a circumcision in Afghanistan carried out in unrecommended sanitary and medical conditions.
