Novak Djokovic loses in three sets to Casper Ruud. The Norwegian had never beaten the world number one before.

Stefanos Tsitsipas will go for his third title in Monte Carlo. The Greek defeated an unbeatable Jannik Sinner in the semis by 6-4, 3-6 and6-4. Sinner limped off the court with a hamstring injury in the second set. He has not won a Masters 1000 title since he won in 2015. The final will be played on Sunday. The winner will be crowned champion of the Principality of Monaco. It will be the first time that the winner of the final will have won the Monte Carlo title. The previous two finals were won by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, who both won the title in 2011 and 2012. The last time the final was won by a player who had not won anything so far this year was in 2012. It was the first final in which the runner-up lost in Miami in 2022.
