The next few days are going to be the peak of winter in Israel. Some breeds like Huskies actually enjoy the cold, while others need protection from threats like hypothermia or frostbite.
Pay attention to symptoms such as shivering, whining or raising paws that suggest the dog has a cold. Trimming fur on the feet and wearing protectors prevents irritation from snow or salt (in the high mountains where this is relevant). Note that very young, very old or short-haired dogs are particularly sensitive to the cold.
