Jorge Glas, the former vice president of Ecuador, is housed in the same prison as one of those accused of the crime of Fernando Villavicencio. The Guayaquil complex inherited the name "La Roca", but instead of gangsters from the early 20th century, its cells hold stories of former officials, drug traffickers and escapes.

Three months after its inauguration, the first escape attempt was recorded. In the following years, prisoners were shot and killed, even inside their own cells.
