Two cars collided head-on on the Moosburg Isar Bridge on Tuesday (April 16). One reason for the serious accident was probably the condition of the person responsible.

A 43-year-old from the Freising district was driving his Cupra Leon out of town on Landshuter Straße (St 2350) when he got into the left lane after the curve to the Isar bridge. The police also ordered a blood sample because the officers found him to be heavily intoxicated. The man's driver's license was confiscated, and, according to the police chief, he now faces criminal charges for endangering road traffic and negligent bodily harm. (By the way, everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.) The accident took place at around 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday evening (April 16th.) The extent of the accident surprised even experienced emergency services. On site, they found two cars whose fronts were completely destroyed. The driver and a passenger were so seriously injured that they had to be taken to a hospital. In the case of another passenger (57), the emergency doctors decided to request a rescue helicopter for him.
