Slaughterhouse's main customer is delivering fewer animals for slaughter, resulting in a weekly shortfall of 350 cattle from a profitable operation. This creates a weekly deficit of 40,000 euros. “Due to the existing infrastructure and the high conversion costs, downsizing would not be effective either,” explained Managing director Julian Müller. The schedule for the closure remains unclear, which depends, among other things, on the contracts with customers.
