Ecuador is the target of a barrage of criticism across Latin America after police burst into the Mexican embassy. Former Ecuadorian vice-president Jorge Glas, accused of corruption, took refuge there. he took refuge in its embassy on December 17 and was the subject of an arrest warrant for alleged corruption. He was transferred to a high-security prison in Guayaquil (southwest) on Saturday.
