Parts are replaced every year - and a lot of money is invested. In 2024 it is primarily about a tunnel on the A71 and sections of the A4 in eastern Thurringia. Germany's longest road tunnel, the almost eight-kilometer-long Rennsteig Tunnel, is not scheduled to be completed until 2027 at the earliest, and it could not be until 2030.
