Eight people die in truck-minivan crash with farmworkers in California. An elderly driver swerved into the oncoming lane and collided with a minivan carrying farm workers heading to a farm, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The drivers of both vehicles and six passengers in the GMC were killed, authorities said in a statement. One of the people was thrown into the air and another was partially thrown out of one of the cars, authorities added. The person who was injured in the collision was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.
