Eliane Karp, of Jewish descent, flew from San Francisco to Tel Aviv, Israel, a country with which Peru has no extradition agreements. Karp is accused of the alleged crime of money laundering for the Ecoteva case.

Since 2017, she has been subject to an order of preventive detention of 18 months and since 2019 a request for a sentence of 16 years and eight months. Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otárola confirmed this afternoon that he took a flight to Israel.
