Embarrassing mishap in Austria: SPÖ and FPÖ confused during the election. Around ten percent of the votes in Golling incorrectly went to the FPÚ.

The election mishap has negative consequences, particularly for the ÖVP. In the summer of 2023, the wrong candidate was named the winner in an election for the SPÚ's top candidate. The glue on the envelopes of the voting cards didn't hold, so the election had to be postponed.
