Environmental officer criticizes: “The city has lost money”. Compensatory areas are necessary to compensate for land use and landscape interventions in construction projects.

The city of Weilheim maintains a so-called eco-account for these areas. The council has now issued a statute with which the city can reimburse costs for providing compensation areas for construction projects and will come into force these days. It was only in January that the city council's audit committee presented its latest report, in which the committee criticized a lack of transparency.
