Environmental toxins in the holiday paradise: pesticide contamination has been proven as far away as the mountains of South Tyrol. Pesticides have also been detected at higher altitudes.
Nearly 30 pesticides detected, including in remote mountain valleys and peaks. In total, researchers detected 27 pesticides, including ten insecticides, eleven fungicides and six herbicides. Among the substances found in the samples was the methoxyfenozide, which has been banned in Germany since 2018. They have no plans to use these substances on national parks and national parks.
