Northern Cyprus considered a base for the Turkish mafia, which is primarily used as a drug center and money laundering center. The head of the Turkish part of the island, Ersin Tatar, threatened a year-long conflict on the divided island like in the Gaza Strip or Ukraine. The warning comes ahead of his meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Gueterres on Friday (April 12) in New York.
