Jorge Macri demanded that the Milei Government speed up the transfer of prisoners to the Federal Penitentiary System. He stated that the number of prisoners doubled the capacity of the City during the administration of Alberto Fernández and that it has continued to grow since December.
The head of the Buenos Aires Government maintained that 94% of the detainees are from the National or Federal Justice Department. “Unfortunately, the previous government, with a discussion that we had already been de facto judicialized, with protection and with demands to the SPF, did not remove the detainees,” he complained.
