Fraud involving parcels handled by La Poste was uncovered by the national police in Essonne, leading to the arrest of three suspects at the end of March. Investigation should, in the coming weeks, go beyond the borders of the department and extend nationally.
It all started with a complaint. The one filed on March 26, 2024 at the Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois police station. The man reports a series of barcode scanner thefts. These devices, which postal agents are equipped with, allow them to ‘flash’ the barcode of mail.
