The EU institutions have reached agreement on the new directive on air quality. This was announced by the rotating presidency of Belgium.

Among the main innovations of the text proposed to help reduce smog - responsible for 300 thousand deaths a year in Europe. There are more severe limits for pollutants such as fine particulate matter PM2.5, quality criteria of air by 2030 closer to the WHO guidelines.
