Joachim Murat, a distant great-grandnephew of Napoleon I, will be a candidate in the European elections on a sovereignist list. He will appear in third position on the “We the People’ list led by Georges Kuzmanovic, a former spokesperson for Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

Murat presents himself as a fan of France and its social model, which no longer supports its destruction planned by the supporters of federalist Europe. For him, it is time to restore power to nations and people, in the face of an oppressive European bureaucracy and a political elite that has betrayed the fundamental principles of democracy, sovereignty, and freedom. He is the son of the Marshal of the Empire and King of Naples JoachimMurat (1767-1815), who was the brother-in-law of Napoleon I through his marriage to his sister Caroline Bonaparte. The 50-year-old is a former paratrooper officer.
