Expats is a new series on Prime Video, based on the novel by Janice Y. K.
Lee. Star of Expats is Nicole Kidman, who also starred in Big Little Lies. The series is the brainchild of Lulu Wang, the director of The Farewell. Expats examines the former British colony and its social strata: the financial district, the wealthy high-rise neighborhoods, the commercial and popular Kowloon. The penultimate episode explores the point of view of Filipino, Malaysian and Indonesian servants serving these rich Westerners.
