Expert considers dissolution of the MV Climate Foundation to be impossible. Since the beginning of the Ukraine war, there has been debate about its resolution.
The foundation was founded to enable the completion of the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline while circumventing threats of sanctions from the USA. The subsidiary of the Russian state-owned company Gazprom contributed 20 million euros to the foundation for environmental projects. The business operations, which were temporarily set up to complete the construction of the gas pipeline, have now been wound up.
