A family from Lower Austria paid 4,370 euros for a 10-day vacation in Egypt. They say the hotel was inadequate and their child injured his foot on a defective pool tile.

As compensation, they received a fruit basket and a bracelet for another hotel from the tour operator. After returning home, Robert immediately lodged a written complaint, whereupon the organizer offered a compensation package. They didn't want to accept it and complained on site. They are now taking legal action against the 5-star hotel and are suing the organizer for their loss of 4,000 euros. It is not the first time that an Austrian family has had to take legal action after a vacation in the Middle East. The case is being investigated by the Austrian Office for Civil Rights and Human Rights (ICHR) in Austria and the United States. The family is seeking compensation for their losses and costs of their legal fees of up to $10,000.
