The Morning Glory Pool in Yellowstone National Park has hardly anything left of its eponymous color. There is so much garbage in the water that these air shafts are clogged and the water is therefore getting colder.

Scientists from the volcanic observatory fear that the pool will probably never again be the same color as it used to be. In the 70s, there were even efforts to drain the water to rid it of garbage and thus restore its original appearance, but the project was unsuccessful. For this reason, red zones have already been set up in some regions of Italy to stop mass tourism.
