Major work will take place over a year to eliminate parking and make the surroundings of the cathedral, one of the most visited in the city, more welcoming. The street which passes behind the cathedral will be made pedestrian, with new paving, valleys will be planted with perennials, and a “vegetated fringe” will be installed at the foot of the monument.

Part of the rows of lime trees which adorn this garden will be cut down because they are in poor condition and will be replaced by prunus.
