Fight against Asian tiger mosquito: discoveries at hotspot are increasing – “gate of entry into the city of Munich”. In 2023, the health department found a total of 21 Asian tiger mosquitoes during checks on traps set up in the city.
In the Central Franconian city of Fürth, the authorities have also stepped up the fight against the bloodsucker in recent years. The tiger mosquito is adapted to the urban environment and uses even the smallest accumulations of water as breeding grounds to lay eggs.
