Saint-Jory (Haute-Garonne) is forced to increase local taxes by 10% to get its finances back on track. The slate left by the ex-mayor amounts to 1.4 million euros in 2024, after an audit.

The municipality has suspended all new projects since February while the population has doubled. There will also be an end to the property tax exemption for new housing and an increase in the housing tax for second homes. The vote on these savings measures is scheduled for April 9 during the municipal council.
