Fines from a neighboring country will soon also be enforced in Germany. Until now there was a loophole.

A new police treaty for cross-border cooperation between Germany and Switzerland comes into force on May 1st. This contract has far-reaching effects on traffic offenders who have so far gotten away scot-free in Switzerland. The Swiss are known for showing little mercy when it comes to traffic violations, which is also reflected in the fines, which are sometimes significantly higher than here. Some time ago BW24 also listed the penalties for speed limits in the neighboring countries of Austria, France and Switzerland.
