The Forstern youth fire department currently consists of nine boys and one girl between the ages of 13 and almost 18. At the exercise day, which has been prepared since the beginning of the year, 15 active participants were there to provide support.

The 24-hour operation began promptly at 9 a.m. with a briefing and division into two groups: the emergency fire engine and the tank fire engine. There was a consistently positive response from the young people at the final round on Sunday: “Everyone really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun,” says youth warden Fabian Spagl.. The program also included a person rescue from a shaft and a cat rescue from the tree. And on Sunday morning there was even a search for people with the fire boat on the gravel pond.. By cooking and grilling together, around the campfire, playing games and, last but not least, spending the night on camp beds in the fire station, the youngPeople were able to experience that working as a team in theFire department is an elementary basis.
