An inmate from the Fleury-Mérogis penitentiary center (Essonne) escaped this Friday morning during an outing to the Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac museum in Paris. A flagrant investigation has been opened, the prosecution further specifies, adding that a search warrant has been launched.

This inmate, who was granted leave to take part in a visit to the museum, was serving a two-year sentence for aggravated theft. In mid-September, two inmates from this same penitentiaries center escaped during an organized outing in the Fontainebleau forest.
