At least 42 people have died and eleven others remain missing after this weekend's floods in Haiti. Around 85 people were injured and more than 13,600 houses were damaged, forcing villagers to evacuate.

The most severe damage has been recorded in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince and the western region of Haiti. Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry said he has requested international help and is working with local organizations to respond to the needs of those affected. Although the weather has improved in recent hours, it is estimated that tens of thousands of people have been affected.
