Female fighters of the mixed battalion made it clear to their commanders that 12-hour shifts were eroding them to the point of inefficiency. Backed by their parents, they demanded an immediate change in procedures.

After the brigade commander was involved in the matter, the shifts were shortened to eight hours - also in the neighboring sector. This followed the attack in which their two friends, Staff Sergeant Uri Yitzhak Iluz and Sergeant Lia Ben-Nun fell while guarding the position, as well as First Sergeant Ohad Dahan.
