Former Syrian Salafist rebel Majdi Nema will be tried in France in April 2025 for war crimes. The former spokesperson for the Syrian rebel group Jaysh al-Islam is notably suspected of having helped to enlist children or adolescents between 2013 and 2016.

He faces a sentence of twenty years in prison. He was indicted on January 31, 2020 by a judge from the crimes against humanity division of the Paris court. He has been in pre-trial detention since November 2019 in Marseille.
