The meeting scheduled in Capri from 17 to 19 April 2024 is the first of two meetings of G7 foreign ministers that will be hosted in Italy during Tajani's presidency. The objective, explained Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, is to strengthen the role of the G7 as the main consultation forum between the large liberal democracies.

The agenda of the work will therefore focus on the main issues at the center of the international debate, starting from the situation in the Middle East. The response to Russian aggression in Ukraine will remain at thecenter of theG7 agenda. The Italian presidency intends to confirm G7's solid 360-degree support for Kiev, guaranteeing full military, political and financial support, aiming for a just and lasting peace. The ministers will also address the development/migration nexus, to combat the root causes of irregular migration, promoting the continent's sustainable growth through new investments, job creation, training, energy transition. The meeting will also discuss the stability of the Indo-Pacific, a priority region for political balances and world trade.
