FSC certified sustainable forests, +4.4% in 2023 in Italy. There are 85,214 hectares of forests certified by the FSC system in Italy at the end of 2023.
Forest certification goes hand in hand with the valorization of the natural services offered by forests (carbon storage, soil preservation, biodiversity, water cycle and ability to provide tourist-recreational services). Now 70% of the total certified area in Italy also verifies these benefits. Among the best performing sectors are wood for construction, furniture, packaging and textiles.
