Gatherings dedicated to Algerian fighters banned in Paris this Sunday. Sunday also marks the fifth anniversary of Hirak, a popular protest movement to oppose the 2019 election for a fifth term of Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
A gathering was planned for 2:00 p.m., Place de la Nation in Paris, at the call of a collective to commemorate the national day of the Shahid (the martyr), which pays tribute to the Algerians who died during the Algerian War.
