The discussions led by Joe Biden's emissary on a new release of hostages accompanied by a pause in hostilities in Gaza “are happening,” a White House spokesperson said. “The initial indications we have from Brett (McGurk) are that the discussions are going well,” he said, specifying that the envoy had visited Cairo on Wednesday and was in Israel on Thursday, for meetings with the government as well as with families of American hostages.
The White House has not commented on the reports.
