Seven members of World Central Kitchen were killed by the Israeli army in Gaza. The NGO was created in 2010 by Spanish-American chef José Andrés.

Since 2010, WCK has intervened in Australia, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, Peru, Cambodia and even Ukraine since the Russian invasion. The organization has operated in Gaza, Israel and Lebanon since the early days of the conflict following the October 7 attacks. It recently announced that two more ships were loaded with 1.2 million meals ready to be sent to northern Gaza.
