In February, around 60 cubic meters of wood were felled in the Geretsried city forest. The Wolfratshausen Forest Owners Association markets the resulting wood for the city.
Forestry entrepreneur Manfred Schmid from Mooseurach is one of the few who still practices forest work with horses. The name describes the calm and relaxed nature of this horse breed. Moritz, one of four horses that Schmid owns and has been working as a horseback rider for four years. The animals then spend the summer relaxing on the mountain pasture.
