Minister of the Interior, Nancy Faeser, presented a series of measures to combat the far-right. The measures include a ban on the use of semi-automatic weapons by extremists.

A change in the law will also make it possible to close bank accounts of extremists. These measures are in response to a meeting in Potsdam in which the far right discussed the expulsion of foreigners from the country. The meeting was attended by members of the anti-immigration AfD party. The AfD wants to expel all people of foreign origin from Germany.
