Germany to give one-off allowance of 220 euros per person to Holocaust survivors in Israel. The payment is specifically intended for Holocaust survivors living in Israel who suffered the October 7 attacks.

Around 113,000 people are affected by this single allowance. Its payment has already started since March, specifies the Claims Conference, and could be spread over several months depending on the allowances already received by certain victims. In total, since the establishment of this program in 1952, more than 85 billion euros have been spent by the German government to repair losses and damage suffered by victims of Nazism. The Claims Conference is the organization which has defended compensation for victims of the Holocaust since 1951. The German government announced on Tuesday April 9 that it would allocate an additional fund of 25 million euros to its expenses intended to compensate victims of Holocaust. This fund will make it possible to pay a one-time allowance to Holocaust Survivors who experienced the October7 attacks in Israel, the German Ministry of Finance said.
