Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said the European Union should consider extending the deadline of the post-COVID National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) beyond its current date of 2026. "I personally reiterated that perhaps evaluating, withoutobviously changing the amount of resources available, a possibleextension could be useful," Gior getti said in Luxembourg on thesidelines of the Council of Economy Ministers.
"We will talk about it again in a year, as in other situations, the Italian positions at first seem isolated or out of place, but in the end they are much more realistic than other approaches", he said. "We know perfectly well that there is no willingness today to consider this," he said, adding that the Italian position was "more realistic" than others. "I see that the Poles have also made the same point," he added.
