Gironde wants to create 1000 kilometers of additional cycle lanes by 2030. Already comprising 736 kilometers of cycle routes (outside the Bordeaux metropolis), the department wants to increase the number of cycle paths.
An ambitious project to encourage “a change of culture” for getting around. The implementation of this ambitious plan will require 100 million euros, a quarter of which will be covered by the department. “We need to have a global vision of the project, with multimodality,” explains Jean Galand.
