Rabbi Shai Tahan is head of the Sha'ari Ezra community and head of Beit Erzi HaLebanon. Just before the holiday, Rabbi Tahan was asked if it is permissible to sell the house to a foreigner by selling the chametz, thus getting rid of cleaning the house.

The person who leaves his house on the days of Passover may sell his house with all its contents. And he will fulfill the mitzvah of testing the leaven in his room that he rents for the holiday or he will leave one room in his house that is not addicted and clean it. And those who don't want to clean any room at all may clean their car with a flashlight and a blessing and do the hametz test there (note the note 13 page 1a in the comments). The full and reasoned answer is inside the Beit Midrash and outside of it. In collaboration with Shoba Israel, this article was originally published in Hebrew.
