The employees of the elevator company "Schindler" have started a strike. They will not provide repair and maintenance services for the thousands of systems they operate.
According to them, there are dozens of calls a day, and about 100 rescues a month. "Using the Schindler elevators these days when rescue is not possible is a danger and the public must avoid it," the workers declare. The company's employees, most of them elevator technicians, went on strike yesterday following a labor dispute between them and the management.
