A plane from the German company Lufthansa with 190 passengers on board, bound for Dubai, made an emergency landing in Rhodes on Monday afternoon. The pilot requested authorization from the Greek airport authorities to land on the island of Rhodes, in the south-east of the Aegean Sea.

After an intervention by the Rhodes airport firefighters, the aircraft was evacuated and all passengers, safe and sound, will spend the night in hotels in Rhodes. The German airline is expected to send another aircraft to Rhodes with technicians so that passengers can continue their journey probably on Tuesday to Dubai.
