Up to 25,000 holidaymakers who went to Greece last summer on the island of Rhodes can obtain vouchers covering up to a week's stay. The program takes place in two phases: the first from April 4 to May 31 and a second from October 1 to November 15.

“Anyone staying in areas affected by the fires is eligible,” said Yannis Papavasiliou, president of the island’s hoteliers’ union. To obtain the voucher, the Greek Ministry of Tourism clarified that beneficiaries must spend at least six consecutive nights in a hotel of their choice in Rhodes, provided that it is part of the register of hospitality hotels created for this purpose. The response to the program has been very good and we are told it will be even stronger in the fall,’ said the island's hoteliers' union president, Yannis Pappasiliu. ‘They want to encourage people to come back, which is good. We will accept the offer and come and spend money on the Island,' said Briton Sara van Oostrum.
