The only active production of these compounds in Italy is located in Piedmont, the Solvay Specialty Polymers chemical hub in Spinetta Marengo, in the municipality of Alessandria. Around 125 thousand people may have drunk water contaminated by Pfas, according to an estimate made by Greenpeace Italy. The problem also concerns many areas of Lombardy.
