Greta Thunberg appeared before a London court on Thursday for disturbing public order. The 21-year-old is accused of disrupting the Energy Intelligence Forum in October.

She faces a maximum fine of 2,500 pounds, or nearly 3,000 pounds for her part in the protest. She was fined in October for blocking the port of Malmö in Sweden, a few months after being forcibly taken away by police during a demonstration against the use of coal in Germany. The UK government has been criticized for its decision to grant new permits for the exploitation of oil and gas in the North Sea.
